Material Library

To view materials type and the properties, select the Material Libraries command from the Home main toolbar.

Adding an Item to the Material Library

To add an item to the Material Library, click the Add button. Note that the new item is coming with default properties and can be changed as per user needs.

Deleting an Item from the Material Library

To delete an item from the Material Library, select the item you want to delete and click the Delete button.

Modifying an property in the Material Library

Select the property you want to modify make the change in the grid and choose enter or move to next property grid or validate the dialog.

Material type properties which can be found/changed in library:

Concrete:
  • User Specified (the default new material setting is No):
    • No - the values of E and MR are computed based on the code year selected and read only for newly added materials. Default materials are all read only. If the code year is changed E, MR and λ will be recomputed
    • Yes - the values are all user editable. If the code year is changed the values will remain unchanged.
  • Name - Cl A, Cl B, Cl C;
  • Description - class A, class B, class C;
  • f'c - compressive strength of concrete;
  • Unit Wt - density of concrete;
  • CTE - thermal coefficient;
  • Poisson - Poisson's ratio;
  • E - concrete modulus of elasticity;
  • MR - modulus of rupture;
  • λ- lambda value per Article 5.4.2.8, AASHTO 2016 interim. λ is computed as follows:
    • if the unit weight of concrete ≥ 135.0 pcf, λ = 1.0
    • if the unit weight of concrete ≥ 100.0 pcf, λ = 7.5 times the unit weight of concrete but not greater than 1.0
    • otherwise λ = 0.75

  • Fu - Steel ultimate strength;
  • Unit Wt - density of steel;
  • CTE - thermal coefficient;
  • Poisson - Poisson's ratio;
  • E - steel modulus of elasticity;

Reinforcing Steel:

  • Name - US#3[M10], US#4[M13], US#5[M16], etc;
  • Size - bar size;
  • Diameter - bar diameter;
  • Area - bar area;
  • Fy - Steel yield strength;
  • Fu - Steel ultimate strength;
  • Unit Wt - density of steel;
  • E - steel modulus of elasticity;
